Chanel’s Blue Satin nail polish; what can I say? I tried it & was happy with the feedback I got from those around me. Everyone loved it!! {except one of my brothers who frowned & said he preferred me in pale pink/pearl}. Oh well, one can’t please all, no? (:
Another new thing I’ve tried is the old styled cloak {reminds me of how my grandma used to wear it – except that it’s worn on the shoulders as opposed to on the head}. I’m really loving this style. I was promised that as per my request, it shall not sweep the floor - & it doesn’t! =) I reaaaally don’t enjoy watching girls’ cloaks sweeping the floors of malls, offices etc… so un-chic. I think the elegance of any cloak lies partly in the fact that it should just touch the floor. The funny part is that ever since I started wearing this style of cloaks, I’ve been asked a question often: “Are you from Saudi??” O.o
I received a call from a very senior 'colleague' - more like a godfather figure really - who had moved, two years ago, to another financial institution in AD. He wanted my help to identify serious & ambitious UAE nationals working at a senior level, who would be interested to join his organization. I promised him that I would try my best and would get in touch with him soon regarding the same. I also promised that I would visit their premises whenever I'm in the capital city {after being lectured about not keeping in touch! =)}. I was most flattered when he added: "You know, I mention your name in many of our meetings; that there is a female UAE national who is ambitious & has really gone far with her career. I want you to know that I'm very proud of you & that I'm a shout away if you ever decide to leave your current workplace." No words can describe what I felt then; so surreal, you know?
I've broken the news of my medical trip to the CFO, & informed him that HR is aware of the same & had ok'd me working remotely from abroad. He offered to introduce me to the country's {one I'll be in} CFO - which would be really great, in case I ever needed anything in terms of access/help of any sort. I thanked him & also informed him that the cluster HR head had also offered to introduce me to the EMEA HR head before I travel. So, I guess this trip will help broaden my network within the organization :}
Tomorrow is going to be one interesting day for me. I'll be at a farm for a while; will take lots of photos of course =) {will be shared with you} - before heading off with the family to Hatta. I can't wait! I love spending time with my parents & brother/s <3<3<3
